In times of crisis, UNFPA Kenya plays an important role in data collection, guiding responses to crises to empower both humanitarian organizations and affected communities to make well-informed decisions. We recognize that even in times of crisis, the need for reproductive health care for women and girls does not stop. We are committed to providing integrated sexual and reproductive health services and addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in areas affected by the crisis such as drought-affected areas.

During crises, we work closely with partners to ensure the delivery of essential services such as antenatal and nutrition services for pregnant women, emergency obstetric and newborn care, and gender-based violence prevention and response in affected areas.

In our outreach efforts, we distribute dignity kits with essential hygiene items such as sanitary pads to maintain the health and dignity of women and girls. Additionally, we boost the ability of healthcare professionals by conducting training sessions on safe delivery, basic and comprehensive emergency obstetric care, clinical management of rape, and the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in crises.
