Dr. Pilar de la Corte Molina

Dr. Pilar de la Corte Molina is the Deputy Representative and Officer in Charge for UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, in Kenya. She brings over 20 years of experience in international development, with a strong focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), including in humanitarian settings.

Pilar has held several technical and leadership roles within UNFPA, including Health SWAp Technical Advisor at the UNFPA Mozambique Country Office, SRHR Technical Advisor at the UNFPA Sub-Regional Office for the Caribbean, and Adolescent and Youth SRHR Specialist at the UNFPA Malawi Country Office. Prior to joining UNFPA, Pilar worked as a Health Advisor for the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) in Mozambique.

She has significant expertise in policy dialogue and stakeholder engagement, particularly in advancing SRHR for all and integrating the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) agenda within national health sectors and broader UN frameworks. Pilar provides strategic, technical, and programmatic leadership to ensure UNFPA’s advocacy, policy, and programming are evidence-based and aligned with its global mandate.

Pilar also has a strong track record in resource mobilization and has collaborated extensively with bilateral and international organizations, academic institutions, professional bodies, and NGOs to build and sustain effective networks.

She is a medical doctor with a specialization in Family Medicine and Community Health. She holds a Master’s degree in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain.
